Terms & Conditions

Last updated: July 2026

These Terms govern use of MyOpenDoor Translate. We may update them from time to time; the current version always lives on this page, and material changes are communicated to active customers (§15). Questions: hello@myopendoortranslate.com.

1. Introduction & acceptance

These Terms govern use of MyOpenDoor Translate (the “Service”), provided by My Open Door LLC (“we,” “us”). By starting a trial or a paid plan — including checking the acceptance box on the sign-up form — you agree to these Terms on behalf of your organization (“you”).

2. Definitions

  • Service — the live captioning, translation, and spoken-voice platform (broadcast console, listener page, and related tools).
  • Seat — one computer (one booth device) running the broadcast console.
  • Users — listeners on the translated listener page (the audience). Plans are sized by user count.
  • Hours — included translation hours per month for your plan.
  • Trial — a free evaluation period under §3.
  • Plan / Tier — Starter, Congregation, Multi-Site, or Events & Enterprise.

3. Trial terms

  1. What it is. A free trial. No payment due, and no card required to begin. Continuing as a paying customer requires accepting the paid Terms below.
  2. Required audio setup applies (see §8) — the trial is only meaningful with a proper direct feed.
  3. Interpretation/latency disclaimer applies (see §10).
  4. Support during the trial applies (see §9), including consent-gated browser console assistance.
  5. No fees; stop anytime. To continue, you accept the paid Terms before any charge.
  6. Trial content. Trial audio is processed only to provide the Service to you during the trial; it is not sold.

A standalone plain-language version of these trial terms is also available at /trial-terms.

4. Plans, pricing & billing

  1. Everything included. Every feature of the Service is included in every plan. Plans differ only by size — users (listeners), hours, and seats (computers). You are never charged to “unlock” features. (Custom voice cloning is an optional paid add-on — §4.5.)
  2. Prices. As listed on our pricing page, billed in USD. Current tiers: Starter $149/mo, Congregation $469/mo, Multi-Site from $1,299/mo, Events & Enterprise from $4,000/event.
  3. Monthly vs. annual. You choose monthly or annual billing at sign-up.
    • Annual is a 12-month commitment and includes an incentive (billed for 10 months — 2 months free, which are the last two months (months 11 and 12) of the 12-month term, earned by completing it — plus an hours buffer). Annual is a contract for the term (see §5, §6).
    • Monthly renews month to month.
  4. Payment. Fees are billed to the payment method or invoice arrangement agreed at sign-up. Larger plans may be invoiced. A failed or late payment may result in the Service being paused until the balance is brought current.
  5. Custom voice add-on. Speaker voice cloning (for example, a pastor’s voice) is an optional paid add-on with its own fee, reflecting real per-voice cost and a required voice-consent step. It is not included in the base plans.

5. Term, renewal & cancellation

  1. Monthly plans renew monthly and may be cancelled effective at the end of the current paid month.
  2. Annual plans run for the full 12-month term. Cancellation mid-term does not end the contract; see the refund policy (§6) for the only circumstances in which money is returned.

6. Refund policy

  1. Monthly: no refunds — except within a 5-business-day grace window: if you decide within 5 business days that you no longer want the Service, we will refund you. After that window, monthly fees are non-refundable.
  2. Annual: limited, discretionary. A refund on an annual plan may be granted only for a genuine unresolvable issue (§7), at our discretion, and is capped at up to 50% of the remaining balance.
  3. Two free months are clawed back first. The annual plan’s 2 free months are the last two months (months 11–12) of the term — they are earned by completing the full term. On any early refund the free months are forfeited: their value is deducted from the balance first, and the up-to-50% cap is then applied to what remains.

7. What counts as an “unresolvable issue” (annual refund eligibility)

Eligible only when both are true:

  • There is a documented paper trail — support tickets and/or emails — showing you raised the problem and we could not resolve it, or we were causing disruptions to your services; and
  • The problem is on our side, not caused by your internet, user error, or an unsupported setup (§8).

Explicitly not eligible: connectivity problems on your network, operator error, or translation issues that stem from an unsupported audio setup.

8. Customer responsibilities & required setup

  1. Required audio connection. The Service is designed to read a direct audio feed from your soundboard into your computer.
  2. Unsupported setups. Audio via a phone or computer microphone, or a speaker placed in front of the computer (acoustic pickup), is not supported. Translation and voice quality depend on a clean direct feed.
  3. Consequences. Problems arising from an unsupported setup, your internet, or operator error are your responsibility, are not service issues, and are not refundable.
  4. Internet. You are responsible for a stable internet connection at your venue.

9. Support

  1. Response time. We aim to respond to support requests within 1–2 business days.
  2. Help during services. We provide assistance during your live services.
  3. Console takeover — with your consent. To assist you, and only with your consent, our support team may take over your console through your web browser during setup or a live service. This browser-based assistance never accesses files on your computer — it is limited to your MyOpenDoor Translate session in the browser.

10. Service performance & interpretation disclaimer

Real-time translation depends on your internet connection. Connection quality can result in issues in interpretation, and in delays between the spoken word and the translated voice (TTS) output. We work to minimize this, but some variance is inherent to live, network-based translation. We warrant the performance of our engine, not your connection or signal chain.

11. Content & data

Audio and transcripts are processed to provide the Service to you and are not sold. Recordings and transcripts made available to you remain yours; you may request deletion of your content. This is general event/church audio, not protected health information.

12. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service lawfully and as intended — to caption, translate, and deliver live spoken content for your own events. You will not use the Service for any unlawful purpose, will not resell or sublicense it without a separate written agreement, and will not attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the Service or with other customers’ use of it.

13. Limitation of liability & warranty disclaimer

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Except as expressly stated in these Terms, we make no other warranties, and we disclaim implied warranties to the fullest extent the law allows. Consistent with §8 and §10, we are not responsible for issues caused by your internet, your signal chain, an unsupported setup, or operator error.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the fees you paid us for the Service in the period giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. My Open Door LLC is a Wyoming-registered company.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version always lives on this page with an updated “Last updated” date, and we will communicate material changes to active customers.

16. SMS / text-messaging terms

The following terms apply to MyOpenDoor Translate’s text-message programs.

  • Program name: MyOpenDoor Translate Notifications.
  • Program description: When you provide your mobile number and opt in, you agree to receive text messages from MyOpenDoor Translate. This covers two kinds of messages: (1) operational alerts — automated service-status notifications sent to the account owner’s own phone; and (2) notification messages — service-related texts, such as a link to session or sermon notes, sent only to recipients who opted in.
  • Message frequency: Message frequency varies. Operational alerts are sent only when a service event occurs; notification messages are typically sent after a service or event.
  • Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier’s standard rates apply to messages you send or receive.
  • For help, reply HELP at any time, or contact support@myopendoor.ai.
  • To opt out, reply STOP at any time. You will receive a confirmation and no further messages from that program.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

For how we handle the information associated with these messages, see our Privacy Policy. Mobile information is never shared with or sold to third parties for marketing.
